Computer buddies

Volunteer computer buddies provide extra help and support to learners in our Beginner and Improver computer classes. Their role is to assist the class tutor, make learners feel welcome and ensure all learners get any extra individual help they need.

We look for people who have a good level of IT skills but more importantly who are approachable, friendly, encouraging and can build learners confidence.

All potential volunteers go through a recruitment and selection process which includes a basic Disclosure Scotland check

For more information on becoming a computer buddy and to see if we currently have any vacancies please contact us.

Our Volunteers Experience

"I have thoroughly enjoyed being a computer buddy at ACE Cornton, it has allowed me to work alongside some great people. I have got to spend time helping out in several different IT classes, which are never dull as no two learners have the same abilities or IT needs. In the end I honestly believe I have got more out of volunteering at ACE than they got from my help" - Billy D, Computer Buddy.
